Gig Volume #24: NIGHT BIRDS / DOWN AND OUTS / SAUNA YOUTH / CHRIS AND THE ZIPCODES / LITTLE EASE

STATIC SHOCK GIG VOLUME #24:

NIGHT BIRDS
High quality punk rock from the USA. The musical inspiration's drawn from the Cali Classics - Adolescents, Agent Orange, Dead Kennedys - and the lyrics are straight off the blurb of your favourite video nasty. You might've expected the personnel to be resting on the laurels of their previous groups - the Ergs, among others - but all the better that they didn't, because Night Birds fucking rip.

DOWN AND OUTS
Seeing as we already asked the Zipcodes to play, it made sense to invite the Down and Outs onto the bill as well! For the last 8 or so years, they've played killer anthemic punk rock along the lines of Cock Sparrer, Blitz, The Clash etc and put out records on Dead and Gone, Yoyo, Rat Patrol etc. Get down front and sing along.

SAUNA YOUTH
As Sauna Youth had to pull out last minute of The Real Numbers show we did last week, they're making it up to us by jumping on this bill, and we're glad to have them here! Ultra catchy garage punk with perhaps a slightly 'arty' twist (if that phrase didn't bring up any negative connotations). Ex-members of The Steal, and currrent Tense Men among others.

ZIPCODES
From Liverpool, the Down and Outs swap around their instruments, and enlist one member of Amateur Video / Violent Reaction, and then play totally pogoable punk rock. Think Briefs, The Rezillos, Exploding Hearts etc.
